Once claims are decomposed into atomic units, they are distributed to the AI agent network for verification. Swarm Network operates millions of distributed agents that continuously process verification tasks. These agents are not centrally controlled but rather operate independently across a global network of operators, ensuring decentralization and resilience.

Agent selection for specific verification tasks follows a sophisticated matching algorithm that considers agent specialization, reputation scores, current workload, and geographic distribution. Different agents specialize in different types of claims—some excel at document verification, others at numerical analysis, still others at event detection. The protocol routes claims to agents best suited to verify them, improving both accuracy and efficiency.

Multiple agents verify each atomic claim independently, creating redundancy that catches errors and prevents manipulation. The protocol requires consensus among multiple agents before considering a claim verified. This multi-agent consensus mechanism is fundamental to Swarm Network’s reliability. Even if individual agents make errors or attempt fraud, the consensus requirement ensures that the final verification result is accurate.

Agents perform verification by analyzing provided evidence, cross-referencing multiple data sources, applying specialized verification algorithms, and generating confidence scores that reflect verification certainty. The specific verification techniques vary based on claim type. Document authenticity might be verified through cryptographic signature checking, metadata analysis, and comparison with known authentic documents. Numerical claims might be verified through calculation, range checking, and consistency analysis. Event occurrence might be verified through news source analysis, social media monitoring, and official announcement tracking.

Throughout this process, agents operate on encrypted data and generate intermediate results that do not expose private information. The protocol enforces strict data access controls, ensuring that agents only receive the minimum information necessary for their specific verification tasks. This principle of data minimization is central to maintaining privacy throughout the verification pipeline.
